Boilerplate

“A rhythm synthesizer that can quickly go from polite to bonkers.”

Khorlo is a rhythm synthesizer with eight strings and eight pluckers arranged around a cylinder. Each plucker travels at its own speed, sounding the strings it crosses. Change the speeds and string positions to build evolving polyrhythms, weird atmospheres, basses, and a lot of strange in between.

Play a MIDI note to start. Different exciter shapes and resonator types create plucks, bells, drums, and sustained sounds. There’s a 3D interface you grab directly. It looks like nothing else because Aaron drew it himself.

Khorlo is free and in open beta for macOS, Windows, and Linux. No account or activation required.
