KHORLO
Underneath everything is a Karplus–Strong string model. Real plucked strings with their own pitch, damping, stiffness and decay, not samples of one.
Manipulate the 3D interface directly. It is the instrument. It gives you visual feedback of what is actually happening.
Nine effects, each with its own display, arranged in a rack you can reorder. Every knob is a modulation target.
A robust preset browser, filter by instrument types, characteristics or creator.
Favourite the ones you keep going back to. Organize your own folders in the User section.
No. 1 · coming soon
Take a glass cylinder. Place eight strings around it. Circle them with eight spinning impulse rings. A tone is generated when an impulse strikes a string.
And it gets weirder from there.
What makes it Khorlo is the arrangement
Imagine a glass cylinder. Up to eight strings stand around it, each parked at its own position on the circle.
Circling them are up to eight impulse rings, each spinning at a rate you choose. Where an impulse crosses a string, it plucks.
Each ring is free to ride up and down the cylinder. Height is where it grabs the string: high is bright and thin, low is dull and round.
Emergent polyrhythms at one end, resonant voices at the other, and a lot of strange in between.
Change the background, fog, and cylinder color and opacity.
A sophisticated modulation system. Six LFO/Envelope generators, eighteen expression slots and four namable macros. Almost every knob in the instrument is a destination.
